Woodland Hills (Utah) was founded in 1970 and was incorporated 2000. It is a small town of only 2.53 sq.mi(6.6km²) and is part of the Provo 16.7mi(26,88km) Orem 23.1mi(37,18km) Metropolitan Area.

Salem 4mi(6,4km) and Payson 6.7mi(108km) are two larger towns that provide needed services. Nine miles(14,48km) west of Woodland Hills lies the small commnity of Spring Lake where Black Hawk the Ute indian Chief is buried.
