Nine Mile Canyon is actually a 40 mile stretch and is accessible from either US-6 out of Wellington, Utah (Soldier Creek Road) or Myton, Utah (Nine Mile Canyon Rd.) from US-40.

The area is dotted with Fremont Indian petroglyphs and pictographs etched into black patina rock slabs. Several small granaries can also be found high on the canyon walls. Only a sharp eye and a pair of binoculars will reveal to the observer the hundreds of drawings found here.

The homestead, once part of a functioning ranch and the remains of the ghost town of Harper, which was once a sheep ranch and stagecoach stop, hint of days past. Other old farm impliments and structures now bent with age can be seen as one progresses into this truly magnificent canyon.
