In it's early 1900' heyday, Woodside had 328 residents. It had a two-pump gas station, several stores, a hotel, a cafe, a blacksmith shop, a railroad depot and of course the cold water geyser. The closing of the depot and cosequent end to livestock shipping, then flooding and droughst, triggered the demise of the town. By 1940 the population had dwindled to 30 and today stands at 0.

Highest Point was 8-10'. The geyser no longer spouts due to rocks and debrie thrown into the opening. Originally it erupted about every twenty minutes.
