History of Woodland, Utah

Woodland (Summit)* is a small rural community on the Provo River and U-35, four miles southeast of Francis. The area was first settled in 1867 by Hans Larson. The site is in a beautiful woodland country where mine timbers and railroad ties were harvested from the surrounding forests then floated down to Provo via the Provo River.
