History of Plain City, Utah

PLAIN CITY

Plain City is five miles northwest of Ogden. It was initially settled in 1859 as a consolidation of Skeen, North Weber, and Poplar. The settlers were former residents of Lehi: Daniel Collet, Joseph Skeen, their families, and others, who agreed on City of the Plains for the settlement name. This was later changed to Plain City because the town is Located in a large open flat valley.
