DIAMOND Diamond (Juab) is a mining ghost town site among the old defunct mines, five miles south of Eureka. Diamond was first settled in 1870 when a Jewish lapidary discovered crystals in the area that he cut and sold as valuable gems. Other prospectors were finding brilliant crystals and claiming diamond mines. An adjoining canyon was named Crystal Canyon. The last house in Diamond was moved in 1923. John W. Van Cott |
