Big Water (Kane) It is located on US-89, 17.6 miles (28.32 km) west of Page, Arizona and 57 miles (91.73 km) east of Kanab, Utah. During the construction of the Glen
Canyon Dam in the 1950s, the town consisted mainly of those working on the dam and was called Glen Canyon City. The town was incorporated on 29 December 1983* and given the name of Big Water by polygamist Alex
Joseph, the town's first mayor. Big Water's main attraction is Lake Powell.
