ARTHUR Arthur (Salt Lake) was one and one-half miles east of Garfield near the southern tip of the Great Salt Lake. It was a mining town built in 1970 by the Utah Copper Company and Boston Consolidated Milling. The last house was demolished to make way for further expansion of the local mining industry. The town was named for U.S. President Chester A. Arthur. John W. Van Cott |
