History of Thermo, Utah

Thermo (Beaver) is a siding on the Union Pacific Railroad southeast of the Shauntie Hills. The name comes from the hot spring thermal activity of this area.

Thermal Springs (Iron) are in the western Escalante Desert near Thermo siding. The U.S. Geological Survey named the springs for their high temperature.
