History of Sweets, Utah

Sweets (Carbon) is at the head of the North Fork of Gordon Creek at the end of U-139. The town took the name of the nearby coal mine developed by Charles and Will Sweet. The town peaked in the 1920s, then closed down with the mines during the depression.
