SALDURO

Salduro Siding (Tooele) was established on the railroad eight miles east of Wendover. It was most prominent during the 1930s amd 1940s when salt and potash were mined in the area. The settlement was finally abandoned in 1944 when the potash plant closed and, shortly afterwards, a fire swept through the small community. The name is a combination of Spanish and Latin and means rock or hard salt.
