MILLS JUNCTION

Mills Junction (Tooele) is between Lake Point and Tooele. In 1855 it was a small mining town that was also the county seat. In 1856 the county seat was moved south to Tooele. Mills Junction had an early name of Richville, but after Ezra Taft Benson built a sawmill and Brigham Yound had his wool processing and flour mills there, it was soon known as Milltown, Milton, or Millvale. The settlement never filled its desired potential and by 1889 the town was abandoned. Today it is Mills Junction on I-89.
