Low (Tooele) was a Western Pacific Railroad siding at the northern tip of the Cedar Mountains on the eastern edge of the Great Salt Lake Desert. The settlement was established in the early 1880s as a construction and maintenance camp. Local water was unavailable and the camp was abandoned by 1955. The siding was on a low pass between two mountain ranges.
