LINCOLN

Lincoln (Tooele) was settled in 1876 at the mouth of pine Canyon on the westside of the Oquirrh Mountains. Although the original name was Pine Canyon, the settlers Changed it to Lake View because the settlement had such a beautiful view of Great Salt Lake. After a post office was established, it was realized that there were numerous "Lake" names in the territory; therefore, the name was changed to Lincoln, in honorof the President of the U.S.
