History of Lark, Utah |

Lark was three miles south of Copperton and three and one-half miles west northwest of Herriman on the eastern slopes of the Oquirrh Mountains. It was settled on January 3, 1866, as a small mining community. When the nearby Kennecott Copper open-pit mining operation expanded, Lark was dismantled and by 1978 it was basically nonexistent. It is believed the community name was brought from England. |
