History of Knolls, Utah

Knolls (Tooele) is a siding on th Western Pacific Railroad on the eastern edge of the Great Salt Lake Desert. In the 1880s it was a camp for railroad construction and maintenance men, and later for I-80 highway construction personel. The name refers to the numerous knolls in the area.
