KEETLEY

Keetley (Wasatch) was on Silver Creek and US-40, three miles east of Park City. The earliest name was Camp Florence in honor of Dan Robbins's daughter, who was the first "lady" to visit the camp. It later became a Pony Express Station and mining/lumbering center. George A. Fisher, cattleman, land developer, and mayor, named the growing community for John B. (Jack) Keetley, a Pony Express rider and then supervisor of mining construction work in the region. The community was slowly abandoned with diminished mining and lumbering. Soon the entire region will be under the waters backed up behind the Jordanelle Dam.
