Howell (Box Elder) is a small agricultural community three miles off I-84 in the central part of the Blue Creek Valley. It was first settled in 1910 after being laid out by the Promontory-Curlew Land Company. Joseph Howell was president of the company and Utah's representative to the U.S. Congress.
