HOOPER Hooper is on U-98 and U-37 on the eastern shore of the Great Salt Lake, southwest of Ogden. Hooper was an early herd ground for the pioneers. It was first called Muskrat Springs and later Hooperville for Captain William H. Hooper, an early Utah delegate to Congress. He built the first cabin in the vicinity. Today it is a dispersed, agricultural area. John W. Van Cott |
