Hatton (Millard) is a small agricultural community three miles northwest of Kanosh. the town was originally named Corn Creek for the creek where the early settlers started their community. The name was later changed to Petersburg to honor their first postmaster, Peter Robison. A new postmaster, Richard Hatton, took Robinson's place and the community again changed its name, this time to Hatton. It was a main stop on the Overland Stage route to Pioche, Nevada.
