History of Francis, Utah

Francis (Summit) was an outgrowth of Woodland and Kamas, two miles south of Kamas. It was first settled in 1869 by John Williams, who was looking for a secluded spot for a homestead. The settlement was named for Francis M Lyman, a Mormon church official. Today it is a dairy, pasture, and recreation center.
