FAUST Faust (Tooele) is at the south end of Rush Valley where the old Pony Express Trail crosses tlhe Union Pacific Railroad. Atherly Reservoir is one and one-half miles west. Faust was named for H. J. "Doc" Faust who rode the Pony Express out of this station, operated a mail station on a local section of the Overland Trail, and later purchased the station and area for his ranch. H. J. Faust was also important in Utah agricultural history for helping upgrade the quality fo beef cattle on his ranch. Today the site is an unimportant siding on the railroad. John W. Van Cott |
