EMIGRATION CANYON
Emigration Canyon (Salt Lake) originates in the Wasatch Mountains east of Salt Lake City and drains southwest into the Jordan River. For a short time the early name was Canyon Creek. Shortly after it was renamed Emigration Canyon because of the historic importance of the pioneers of 1847 who traveled through it to enter the Great Salt Lake Valley in 1847. John W. Van Cott |
