The Cub River, a stream, (Cache) is a tributary of the Bear River. Fed by a number of springs in the mountains of southern Idaho it flows south into Utah, northeast of Lewiston, where it enters the Bear River. Brigham Young was crossing the Bear River near this section and named the smaller river the Cub River.
