CLIFTON Clifton (Garfield) is a ghost town site one mile south of Cannonville. Several villages were settled in this area during the mid-1870s, but an arratic water supply and flooding forced the settlers to abandon the villages. The communities were absorbed into nearby Cannonville. Clifton was named by Wilis E. Robinson for the surrounding cliffs. John W. Van Cott |
