BECKS Becks (Salt Lake) was a siding on the Union Pacific Railroad in North Salt Lake near the hot springs of the same name. Hot Springs was in the northwest section of Salt Lake City in the hot springs area. In 1885 John Beck bought the property, built cement swimming pool and accompanying buildings, and opened it to the public. There was a shallow lake nearby where the runoff collected. The buildings and pool have since been dismantled. John W. Van Cott |
