History of Amalga, Utah

AMALGA

Amalga is a small agricultural community on U-218 three miles west of Smithfield. It was first settled in 1860 by Hans Jorgensen. When the Amalgamated Sugar Company built a sugar beet processing plant there, the name was changed to Amalga.
