ALDRIDGE Aldridge (Wayne) was at the mouth of Pleasant Creek on U-24, eleven miles east of the Capitol Reef National Park headquarters. It was settled in 1882 by Mosiah Behunin and by 1890 developed into a small community. The settlers produced fruits, alfalfa, melons, and a variety of vegetables. It was abandoned by 1900 partly because of insufficient arable land. John W. Van Cott |
